A letter from our Vice-President:
Members:
Just a short note to say the 2009 Rescue the Crossing Project was a huge success and will provide a solid foundation for the “Friends of Washington Crossing Park” to move forward in 2010 and beyond. By now all of you have read one or
more articles in various newspapers about the details which have all been very favorable….
I want to personally say “thank you” to the UMBA members that volunteered to feed the troops, volunteers and park staff (the few that are still there) during the dress rehearsal and the main event on Christmas day. The UMBA “canteen” was
a tremendous hit with the re-enactors, volunteers and staff. We had over 140 people each day. Their comments were both heart warming and genuine as no one had stepped up prior and recognized them the way that UMBA did.
YOU SHOULD BE PROUD! Thanks again for a terrific community project. As our esteemed treasurer said after “we done good”. I could not agree more…. Have a safe and healthy new year.
See everyone in 2010! - Bob Shaw
